Play Therapy
Begin a Brighter Chapter with the Power of Play Therapy
Every child’s emotional world is unique—shaped by their experiences, environment, and developmental stage. Play therapy offers a safe, nurturing space where children can express themselves, process big feelings, and work through challenges using their natural language: play.
What makes our approach unique? Grounded in evidence-based practices, our play therapy sessions are designed to support emotional growth, build healthy coping skills, and strengthen communication. Our skilled therapists use play as a tool to help children navigate anxiety, trauma, behavioral issues, and more—fostering resilience, self-esteem, and lasting emotional well-being.
A Supportive Route Toward Expression, Healing, & Growth
With the right support, children can learn to process big emotions and navigate life’s challenges in healthy, age-appropriate ways. Play therapy offers a compassionate and developmentally grounded path forward—helping children express their feelings, make sense of their experiences, and build important emotional and social skills through play.
Through personalized sessions and evidence-based techniques, our therapists guide children in developing emotional regulation, problem-solving abilities, and self-confidence. With each session, your child takes meaningful steps toward greater resilience, healing, and inner strength—all through the power of play.
Get started with Play Therapy and experience:
Safe Emotional Expression
Our trained play therapists create a warm, welcoming environment where children feel safe to express difficult emotions through toys, art, and imaginative play. This nonverbal approach allows children to process feelings they may not yet have the words to explain.
Personalized Emotional Regulation
Through evidence-based play therapy techniques, we guide children in learning how to manage big emotions and build inner resilience—all through the therapeutic power of play.
Healthy Relationships & Social Skills
Southlake Counseling’s play therapy sessions address peer conflict, family transitions, and communication struggles. Through interactive play, our therapists help children strengthen empathy, improve social skills, and build stronger, more connected relationships.
