Nathan Bitecofer
Psychologist, PhD
Nathan is a counseling psychologist offering psychological assessment, individual, and couples therapy. They earned Their master’s and doctorate (PhD) in counseling psychology from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio. During graduate school, they interned at the Traumatic Stress Center of Summa Hospital,
one of only a handful of centers in the US dedicated to working exclusively with trauma survivors. Through this experience, they became well-versed in a number of PTSD interventions and developed a trauma-informed approach that serves as a guiding principle for their clinical work. They also have extensive experience conducting various psychological assessments ranging from diagnostic assessments to intelligence testing to surgery readiness assessments for bariatric surgery candidates. Nathan has experience working with a diverse body of clients with a wide array of concerns, including trauma, intimate partner violence, grief, life transition and adjustment issues, interpersonal and relationship difficulties, men’s issues, family of origin concerns, anxiety, depression, and more. Nathan specializes in helping folks identify the factors that keep them stuck and figuring out effective strategies to move forward. They aim to provide an affirming environment that supports clients in leading a more authentic, meaningful, and fulfilling life through increased insight and practical strategies.
