Andrew Patterson

Andrew Patterson is a North Carolina Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA). He received his Master of Science in Social Work in 2023 from the University of Tennessee Knoxville with a clinical practicum focus. Before that, he received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2020 from Clemson University. He has experience working with older children, teens, and adults. During graduate school, he interned with the Member Emotional and Social Health program within the Boys and Girls Club of the Tennessee Valley and with the University of Tennessee’s Student Counseling Center as a psychotherapist. Through these experiences, Andrew has worked with many issues including depression, anxiety, social and emotional skill building, various forms of trauma, difficulty adjusting to life transitions, and anger management. Andrew works from a strengths-based approach grounded in the development of personal insight. While goals are individually created, common themes surrounding building an improved outlook on and confidence when dealing with personal circumstance through tailored intervention strategies. He strongly believes that the client is the expert in their life experience and that treatment should showcase and build upon their expertise. When Andrew is not working or learning he is spending time with his family, including his sweet dog Lily, playing volleyball, hiking, or playing games and spending time with friends.
