Allyse McNeil

As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Associate, Allyse seeks to serve school-aged children and young adults through the following modalities: Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), and person-centered approach. Her clinical focus includes ADHD, depression, anxiety, career exploration, trauma-informed practices in the K-12 classroom, self- empowerment and goal-oriented intervention. Allyse obtained a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from UNC at Greensboro and a Master of Science in School Counseling with a NC State licensure.

Formally, Allyse provided a comprehensive School Counseling program while serving as 504 and MTSS chair for a Title-1 Middle School in Durham, North Carolina. She has also formally submitted in partnership, school counseling field research to a scholarly journal focusing on adolescence and resilience. She has gained experience in Higher Education and served as an Academic Advisor/Adjunct Instructor for UNC at Chapel Hill. Her passion for helping adult learners find their purpose through career exploration led her to a new territory. While residing in Washington, D.C., she served as a Career Coach for George Washington University. Later, serving as a College and Career Readiness Specialist for underprivileged students at an Adult Public Charter School.

Her professional training thus far creates a palpable skill set to servicing K-12 and beyond, using holistic interpersonal practices, interventions, and assessments to gauge academic, personal/social, and career needs. Allyse’s biggest belief in mental health stems from an Adlerian belief that “clinicians are interested not in curing ‘sick’ individuals or a ‘sick society’ but in re-educating individuals and in re- shaping society” Corey, G. (2013).

In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, long-distance running, roller skating and spending quality time with family and friends.
