Apiffany Gaither

Apiffany Gaither graduated from Meredith College with a bachelor of arts degree in psychology in 2012 and Nova Southeastern University with a master of science degree in mental health counseling with honors in 2015. Apiffany is a North Carolina board-certified licensed clinical mental health counselor (LCMHC), the Eating Disorder Team Lead at Southlake, and currently leads the Eating Disorder Outpatient Program (EDIOP). Apiffany’s clinical experience includes an array of services involving day treatment, community mental health, crisis and acute residential treatment, and private practice in both North Carolina and California. As a Maudsley eating disorder-trained family-based therapist, Apiffany is passionate about helping her clients and their families throughout recovery. Apiffany has experience treating anorexia, bulimia, orthorexia, binge eating, and ARFID. Apiffany also enjoys working with anxiety, mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and trauma. Apiffany has foundational training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Apiffany is also trained in intuitive eating with nutrition, yoga therapy, and trauma-focused therapy. Apiffany is certified as a Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional. She focuses on adolescents and young adults ages 10 and over and also works with adults. Apiffany utilizes an integrative approach of therapy that provides each client with individualized treatment to accomplish his/her/their goals. Her approach includes cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and person-centered therapy. When not working, Apiffany enjoys spending time with her husband, family, friends, and five dogs. She loves aerial arts, barre, reading, and fostering puppies.
