What is “The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work” Program?
“The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work” program was designed to allow couples to learn, practice, and implement relationship enhancement strategies to deepen their connection.
The program is developed based on the research of award-winning therapist John Gottman. Gottman identified seven key areas or “principles” couples can improve to strengthen their communication, improve intimacy, manage conflict successfully, and build trust.
Southlake Counseling is excited to offer a 6-hour/1 day intensive program and 9-week extensive programs to couples. Relationships and marriage aren’t always easy, so let us help to guide you on how to maintain a lasting and fulfilling relationship.



How does it work?
Couples will complete a short, 5-10 minute phone consultation to better assess if “The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work” aligns with their relationship needs. After completing the consultation, they can choose from a 9-week program or a 1-day intensive to learn about how they can use the seven principles in their daily lives.
Couples attending this program should expect to improve their friendship and learn powerful communication and conflict management skills.
