MORE INFORMATION ABOUT YOGA THERAPY

How is Yoga Therapy different from regular yoga?

All yoga can be therapeutic in the way that it promotes the practice of mindfulness and brings focus to your life, but Yoga Therapy is backed more heavily by psychological and neurological research with the intention of helping to treat several mental and physical health conditions.

Do I need to be flexible or have attended a yoga class previously to attend?

No, the group facilitator will guide you through each movement and will encourage you to only complete movements to the best of your ability without hurting yourself.

What should I wear/bring to Yoga Therapy?

Participants should wear loose or stretchy clothing that allows for a full range of motion. Each participant also needs to bring their yoga mat, as these will not be provided.

What kind of mental or physical conditions can be helped through Yoga Therapy?

Yoga Therapy has been beneficial in treating conditions such as anxiety and panic disorders, bipolar disorder, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder as well as body-focused conditions such as back pain, heart conditions, or chronic fatigue brought on by excess stress.
