MSW, LCSWA, LCASA
With experience as a former chaplain, and working with children, adolescents, and adults, Sean is passionate about working with people who experience difficulties adapting to life’s changes. Sean has a background in addiction counseling and enjoys working with people who experience anxiety, depression, grief, loss, separation, illness, and relational issues.
Sean works with clients ages fifteen and above, of any sex or gender, and the LGBTQ community. He takes a trauma-informed care approach, focusing on an individual’s natural strengths, and views counseling as an opportunity for personal growth.
Sean views growth as a process. As the Zen teacher, Charlotte Jocko Beck says, “Who knows how we should be? We simply do our best, over and over and over.”
Sean’s eclectic and creative approach to counseling is influenced not only by a range of therapeutic approaches, but also from an early background studying art and studio painting at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Sean also studied pastoral counseling at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. He received his master’s in social work at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte.
Sean views himself as a life-long learner and in his free time enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, and watching films and documentaries. He has a passion for continuous personal growth using the mind and body.
