When you need more support than standard outpatient counseling can provide, but do not require inpatient care, The Southlake Center IOP program offers you the intensity and space to discuss daily life challenges, celebrate recovery breakthroughs, and practice new healthy coping skills with minimum interruption to your daily life routine.

Daily Life-Friendly Schedule

wWhen you choose our eight week IOP program, you will be with us for three to four nights per week from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Therapeutic Support Groups

During three to four nights per week for each of the eight weeks you are participating in the IOP program, you will also attend a therapeutic support group. On Mondays you will learn more about the Twelve Steps through attending an Eating Disorders Anonymous-based (EDA) meeting. On Tuesdays, you will reap the rich benefits of studying and practicing new skills in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). On Wednesdays you will have the unique opportunity of joining in the Southlake Internal Family Systems (IFS) process group, where you will learn how to separate from your eating disorder, develop skills to stand up and challenge your disordered thoughts and behavior patterns, and take visible steps to reclaim your healthy self-identity. Thursdays offer you the opportunity to participate in a Therapeutic Yoga for Recovery group. This group is part yoga, part mindfulness, and part process-oriented as members focus on discussing their experiences about what arises during the therapeutic process.

Nurturing and Restorative Nutritional & M.E.A.L. Support

One of the most powerful and unique aspects of The Southlake Center Eating Disorders IOP program is our Mindful Eating and Learning (M.E.A.L.) Support program. M.E.A.L. support is available each weekday and weeknight for 90 minute sessions. Day M.E.A.L. Support meets from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., and in the evening from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. You also always have the option of receiving morning M.E.A.L. support, which is offered by request on an individual-session basis. M.E.A.L. support is the place where you can process your emotions, discuss your experiences during supervised mealtimes, and receive professional and peer support to experience mealtime as the triumph it can be!

A Rich Array of Ancillary Services

Should you find that you need additional specialized private and group therapeutic support services during your IOP program participation, you can avail yourself of a wide variety of options including but not limited to Journaling & Self-Expression, Yoga & Movement Therapy, Equine Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Twelve Step-based, as well as experiential therapy for self-esteem, body image, interpersonal relationships, assertiveness, nutrition, stress management, life balance, and emotion regulation.
